Neways, zB is the only boards i no wit a designated sports boards, so i come here to say: GO US!
Fer them of you who dont know, United States is playing Mexico tommorow (Wednesday, 9 p.m. ET, ESPN2) in a soccer friendly, and its gonna be awesome, cuz i love watching this rivalry game between these two countries. Since 2000, The U.S. is like 7-2-1 against them crazy mexicans, and even if as a team we sucked in the World Cup, itll mean a lot to win this game, particulary since them mexicans hate the united states with a passion, while the average american doesnt give a crap about the game. Its being played in Arizona, so the near-sellout crowd is definately going to be pro-mexico. I watch this game every time its on, no exceptions, and i know both teams fairly well enough, but this year, both teams have new coaches, so itll be a lil moar interesting. This time tho, i wonder if the U.S. can pull it off...without cornerstone defenseman Oguchi Onyewu, itll be a lot harder to keep that crazy ass Jared Borgetti in check, and mexican offense is pretty relentless. This game has always been my favorite match of soccer, starting from the 2002 World Cup, when there was like 20 yellow cards in the second half of that semifinal game between these two countries. It always gets very heated, and for anyone whose seen that nike commercial, them mexicans hate the american team like your mom hates Walt Flanagans Dogg. Should be a great one. Be sure to watch it. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns...oot=us&cc=3888

hell mutha yeah..im so glad someone brought this up and im also glad that im not the only going to be watching this game from the board.
alright, first. this game means a lot more to Hugo Sanchez.I've been a huge fan of him and always wanted him to be their coach for the national team. he has already predicted. about winning tomorrow to the press. he likes being in the spot light and uses the media.on his back , sits the Mexican press who will be more critical of him. not to mention he has called all his A team guys from Europe also. Mexico hasnt scored on US soil since 1999. So you can imagine, how much they will be earning to do that tomorrow, and win at the same time. I dont know who will win. I'm a U.S fan thorough. i dont think it'll be a blowout, but a close game.

haha, yes. United States is keeping the streak alive! Mexicans havent scored on U.S. soil since like, 2000 or something. And..once again, the mexican team shows how passionate they are about this game, but still cannot prevail.
They brought 17 players from their world cup team for a simple friendly match, while the U.S. was only using 7. Overrall, id have to say i wasnt really impressed with either side's play, the only surprise to me being how well and completely Johnathan Bornstien dominated that left side..talk abt some good football. And just like two world cups' ago, the mexican teams theatrics were in full swing as always. Did you see that last bit during the celebration after the last goal? The Mexican golie tried to attack Eddie Johnson when he was celebrating...talk abt pissed. im looking for this game online so i can do some more in-depth analysis for myself, but i cant find it :'( I missed the Jimmy Conrad goal, which sucks, cuz Kimmy Jonrad is my favorite, I read the columns he writes for ESPN, and they're really funny. Hopefully ill find it online, cuz from what i saw he also had a tremendous game. o ya and not to mention the mexican side refused to shake hands after teh game, i tell you, those mexicans hate themselves this US team. Mexican side offers the same excuses. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns...oot=us&cc=3888 Go U.S.!

as for the game, i loved it. USA played very hard and the odd thing is Mexico had so many chances, but great goal keeping by Howard. Wouldnt be suprised if hes the number one choice from now on. Howard does great at Everton anyway. After the game, I was suprised how classless the Oswaldo Sanchez was and the rest of his teammates. Donovans goal surely pushed his buttons. very disappointing move by him , and then team not to atleast shake hands. atleast you could have walked out of there like men in front of a pro-Mexican crowd. The situation could have actually gotten very worse, if Eddie Johnson was slow and actually got tripped by Sanchez. No sportsmanship by Mexico! The rivalry definetly lives on and provides great soap opera environment for the next USA vs Mexico game.
