Default New Media Player

In case I'm completely wrong, we have full access to the system now.

So how about a new media player.

Since we can't get RockBox (Rockbox - Open Source Jukebox Firmware) in a firmware version, would it be possible to port is as an app?

Pretty much anything would be better. I want to be able to build and save playlists on the go, and not have to go back to my computer just because I want 3 songs out of the list and 5 into it.

And maybe a nicer front end for the FM Tuner while it's happening.

I honestly doubt this would work. I honestly could care less for a new media player on device. I like it the way it is. But there may be others who beg to differ.

You can already save playlists on the go. Just put all the songs you want into Now Playing, go to playlist on your Zune, and click the Floppy disk looking icon. It'll let you name it and everything.

But a more fleshed out playlist editor would be nice.
I'd like to see any app that could really edit playlists on the go. That'd be awesome. Rockbox or no.

I used rockbox on my old ipod nano and it wasn't bad, but it was kinda pointless at the same time. Why fix what isn't broken? (And fix with something alot less good looking for that matter...)

ZBDF did not hack the device, they hacked the XNA runtime. Someone can correct me if i'm wrong.

Correct. It's better that way, in my opinion-- no fear that you'll ruin the device itself, and no voiding warranty.

We could have made a new media player wit just XNA. Why didn't we? Well, why fix what isn't broken right? I doubt any the developers (except maybe DiNoGames) could do this half as good as M$ did (no offense guys, they just have more resources).
