Default GED Testing preparation

I'm 24, have had trouble getting hired for jobs that aren't from people who know me or know about me. Anyway, I have a feeling that it is due to the fact that I did not go to a single day of highschool, and because of that I have no highschool education, diploma or GED. So if I go to a GED test center, I should be able to pass the tests, given that its not too hard... my weakest points are: history and english (not reading, but writing). I can probably pass math and science stuff reasonably easily.. any suggestions / help? (my history level is maybe 6th grade or 7th grade)

I'm sure you can find stuff for free online. To just PASS shouldn't be too hard. Most of it's common knowledge stuff. But try to see if you can find like overviews of grades online.

You mind if I ask why you didn't go to highshool? I wanna know how you managed that one =P

My sisters husband got his GED and he is one dumb fool, you should have no problems. As Saline said you can probably find something online, I wouldn't know what to tell you since I haven't/won't have to take that test.

6th and 7th grade level is quite low for a GED though I would suggest going to the Library and study World History American and Geography as for english eh I wasn't too good on that myself, be aware although they say a GED is = to a high school diploma Employers do not see it the same.

Actually, GEDs have been
getting more recognition
nowadays than they used
to. Although it's still not
as good as a high school
diploma, it's not as bad,
either.

I can't really tell you
anything that those prior
to me haven't already
said: libraries, online, etc.
Bonne chance, mon ami.

There are plenty of people dropping from grades 10 because they can just go to some community college that offers GED programs Which i think is really eff'd up but Getting GED shows slackage unreliable to some employers as well

Well at first I didn't choose to say the whole story because I'm no huge fan of drama, but throughout most of grade school, I was known as the kid to ignore (by most of the girls and some of the guys), the kid to make fun of (most of the other kids), or the kid to beat up on / practice beating up on (the bullies)... anyway I managed to get to friendship status with about 3 or 4 peers (other students my age or near my age), but half of them had to pretend not to be my friend half the time in public. due to all this, and due to my apparent lack of capacity (at 7th grade) to fully adapt to the sudden change from one class all day to 6+ different classes per day... and thus I went from A's and B's from first grade to 6th grade to making just enough to where I had to go to summer school, By the way I passed summer school... but that wasn't enough for my dad, he pulled me out of the public school system entirely because I had to go to summer school once, and he personally homeschooled me for 8th grade (last grade of jr Highschool) and then due to Tax issues and bankruptcy of a company my dad had partial ownership of ... he and my mom all had a lot of work just to make ends meet, and managed to pull together enough to keep our family off the streets and keep us from starving, but in all that they seemingly forgot to homeschool / enroll me in homeschool for highschool, and didn't think to enroll me into public highschool... thus I just coasted along at home using the internet and playing games and watching tv and hanging out with people at the new house we moved to... and basically wholly wasting my whole highschool life, and I managed to get into a community college for some night classes at the age of 16, but those classes had nothing to do with general education, and every hour of college I've taken since then has been focused toward either machine shop, computers, programming, hardware, networking, welding... etc and not to build my highschool education. I was told by my dad repeatedly to either omit the highschool information or lie about it leaving out details while eluding toward a homeschool system. and that is how I ended up without a day of highschool ... even though I'm 24 now and seemingly NEED it in order to get a steady income.

Well now there are plenty of programs to help you succeed to a steady life.
Education is important though do not lie about it! Go get your GED and go on to what you need to do.
I'm sure you will do fine and I support you every way to get your GED.

I agree and appreciate it entirely, I was only suggested to lie like that in the past from the age of 17 to 22.. since then I've mostly gotten hired by people who knew me or knew of me, and because of that, hire me solely on reputation. Since then, I've been without people to back my reputation, and trying to get a job at Starbucks, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Safeway, and various other places of similar types, and some jobs related to computers and whatnot have all resulted in nothing. I'm fully intent on getting my GED since I'm not getting hired by any place I've tried, and I thus need something about me to change in order for me to be more 'attractive' to a prospective employer.
