I am my class president and I am a junior so I get to plan the prom for my school...yay?
I think we are going to an 80s themed prom though so it should be fun and I am going to ask in the simple, "You, me, prom." kinda way
I tried getting someone to date me that way kinda...
And it worked. But we both liked each other, so just make sure there's at least some spark beforehand?
Faux is right, though I have no experience in stuff like this and also seeing as I am a sophomore in high school and have never asked anyone to a dance, You are going to want to ask someone who would enjoy going to prom with you, thus negating the awkwardness that could be prevalent.
Lets just say that the Senior Prom is comming soon and you still don't have a date. You have someone in mind but you have not talk to her in a while. It would be very awkward just to ask her out. She also happens to go to another school. I am not sure what to do right now. Any sugestions?
If you actually are friends ask her, if she doesn't even know who you are then don't be creepy. Be calm and content.

Turns out I asked her last weekend and this was her reply: I don't even know I am going to the Prom. But if I do change my mind, Ill tell you. Im not sure what to expect now.
Well first we went out to **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** **CLASSIFIED** and we had a fun night.
WOW! probably one of the best posts I've ever seen in my life!
I wasn't going to go to my senior prom, because my girlfriend had hers last year and that's the one I went to, but I changed my mind, going to senior prom now!
BTW. how's the progress with that girl coming along?

I agree with most above, you need to "prime the pump" by chatting her up a bit. Do not go straight for the kill (asking her to the prom) otherwise you will look desperate.
After bringing down her guard, then ask her and ....
have a great prom!
no offense, but some of these answers are pretty lame.
but look. even if you barely know the girl, im sure she would be flattered to be asked to go to a dance. and the worst thing that could happen, is that she tells you no. so dont fret: just ask.

I'm a metal kind of girl.
I'm a sophmore in high school and the farthest I've gotten with a girl is a 3 second hug...
Sucks to be me.
Lucky you. All I got was a 0.5 second hug. I am not planning on going to prom exactly for that reason. I am simply hopeless in these situations. And I am a sophmore^2.
