Default Tried everything else for song under the wrong album, etc? Try this.

I like many other people have tried everything with the new software to get my songs under the correct album and so on. Deleting the old files that were imported from the old software was a good start, but I was still having problems. Here is what I did to fix it, and it worked:

1. Open up the Zune software and click on list-view under your collection.

2. There are a few options here, Album, Artist, Title, etc. What you need to do is right-click on the screen and edit the Columns. Choose from the list, "Album Artist". And click ok. Album Artist will now be an option for you to edit in list view.

3. Scroll down to the artist where different songs are getting sorted under (for me, it was 50 Cent). You will notice that the album probably reverted back to some other album even though you probably changed it a million times. For this to stick, you first have to change the Album Artist. Right-click on the song, click edit, and then either tab over to Album Artist, or right-click directly on Album Artist to edit it. Copy verbatim the name of the original artist and then shift-tab or tab to complete the other incorrect information before you hit enter.

4. The song will move in place when you hit enter, which may frustrate you if you're trying to edit multiple songs in the same area (you can do that too if you just keep hitting tab and wait to hit enter until the end), but you can just get back to the artist by typing in the name, very cool feature they added by the way. That's it, once you're done editing Album Artist, they will stay where they are supposed to and won't revert back.

Note: I tried editing the Album Artist on the file directly many times, and it just wouldn't stick. This is the only thing that has done it for me.

Another Note: If this is too confusing and people really want to try it, maybe I'll figure out how to post pictures on here to show everyone.
