Nah. You don't really have to worry about damage occuring from it being powered on all the time. It is perfectly safe to leave it on .

I'm just scared that the 'Connected' and the dots will get burned into the screen.
Just now, I was able to turn off my Zune while it was connected.
Press/hold the back button and down-left.ÂÂ*ÂÂ*Turns it right off.

Thats true, it does work...I wouldn't think of pressing the down button, and the back button. Hmm.
Nonetheless, this actually turns it off. My computer registers that it is completely off. When I do the trick I listed above, it still registers that a device is connected, it just doesn't know what device.
I wonder what the difference is.
EDIT: That actually resets the device. Instead of rebooting, like it does when you hold the back button and the up button, it actually turns the device completely off. Then when you restart it shows the Zune logo (which only appeares when your reset the device).
EDIT 2: I don't know what I'm talking about. Up and Down both do the same thing when you press and hold them in conjunction with the back button.
Sorry. -_-
