Default "Cloverfield( the mystery begins)"

1) dont read the bottom, if you haven't seen Transformers in the movie.
2) Basically they play a trailer by J.J Abrams' new flick entitled simply '1-18-08'
3) If you wanna just catch the trailer anyway , even HD res..check here: Link

so here begins the talk and this is what i've found so far.
J.J Abrams will not disappoint, thats all I gotta say. He knows how to get people talking. He did it with Lost and other projects, he is doing it again

what i have found so far.:

Well, as I understand it, most of the film is going to be shot using home video cameras, as if from the point of view of real people who are experiencing an attack on New York. It’s designed as a fairly small picture, all things considered, and right now, they’re working to make sure the script is going to deliver some wild thrills (like an earthquake that levels Manhattan or an oil tanker flipping over by the Statue of Liberty), but that it’s not suddenly going to turn into a giant $150 million movie.

There were even whispers of it being a clever preview for the new season of Lost. That would have been amazing, and a few of the details fitted. For instance;

* We know the new season of Lost is partly set in the real world
* We know there is also a creature in lost that makes a freaky roar but hasn't been seen
* We know the new season starts in January
* We know Abrams is producing the new season of Lost
* We know this movie is being written by the guy that writes Lost
* We know Abrams has done similar(kind of) marketing moves like this in the past by linking Lost with high profile movies.

I've also heard that a director has been confirmed; Matt reeves, a man who's only prior work is in TV

Director Discovered For Cloverfield

One of the coolest things about Transformers has absolutely nothing to do with giant freakin’ robots or the movie at all. Instead look to the trailers. One in particular, an untitled picture produced by J.J. Abrams (of “Lost” fame) is making quite the splash. No big surprise. The trailer is awesome. If it is correctly selling the movie’s concept, what we’re looking at is an invasion/monster movie told from the perspective of a common household camcorder. Now we’ve seen something like that millions of times since The Blair Witch Project made it big, but this is with professional visual effects. Watching the head of the statue of liberty crash past the user’s video camera in the trailer made me giddy for more.

Now why haven’t you heard more about this than gushing about the trailer? Because somehow, in this big world of internet spies and websites reporting every single move famous people make, Abrams has managed to bring this move in under the radar. Thus, there’s not much going on in the way of reports. Hell, the movie doesn’t even have a name yet. It’s unofficially being referred to as “Parasite” or “The Cloverfield Project” (Cloverfield for short).

That bastion of movie intrigue, Ain’t It Cool, has finally managed to uncover some information about this unheard of project. I guess with the trailer showing up in theaters word is out that we want to know more. They claim to have the inside scoop on who is directing the Abrams produced picture: Matt Reeves. Not a big name, but Reeves has worked with Abrams as a writer on “Felicity” and a producer on “Lost” the upcoming Star Trek picture. Now his only film credit so far is as director of The Pallbearer - you know, the comedy with David Schwimmer and Gwenyth Paltrow? If that’s any indication, then Reeves may just be the right man to make a horror flick, because that movie certainly was scary.
