The reason it takes so long to get the 360 back is because of the extended warranty causing a flood of 360's to go in for repair. It's always best to get the warranty through the place of purchase

Thats a little bit of assurance I'm not going to spend $80 more dollars that if I waited a day longer.
As for getting the warranty through he place of purchase, don't they just contact Microsoft themselves? Seeing how this is going to be a new unit, if it comes DOA, I can just return it. However, seeing how I already had one bad run in with Circuit City (sold me a really sh**y LCD monitor, luckily they gave a full refund), I really don't want to do a warranty there, but they are my only choice if I want an elite.
So, is there even a real difference between warranty via Microsoft or the store of purchase, besides who I ship/hand my hopefully never to die xbox to?
