Default RE: Explain to me what a Liberal, Democrat, and Republican are.

I'm a Marine and Republican...well I tend to side conservatively. Bush is not a bad president contrary to popular belief. The immigration policy makes sense and we should crack down on it. *a lot, but not all* Liberal Democrats think things like peace and being nice and taxing the US citizens to send money for foreign relations is a good idea....I disagree, and that's one of the reasons I side conservatively. If you ask me, we should pull out of the U.N. (since we fund over 80% of it), because all it does is allow foreign countries to have a say so in what the U.S. wants to do......like the North Korea incident that was so hot a while ago. The Democratic administration gave money oil food and supplies to Kim Jong Il, and if ever there was an evil horrible good for nothing dictator it is Kim Jong Il. He sits pretty with the highest standards of living as anyone on earth and does so while he sips fine wines and watches his citizens literally eating leaves and dirt to get by.....all this time the money given to him by the Democrats he uses for building nuclear weapons to sell to ant American countries like Iran and many others.

As for the peace and being such givers to other people, I think if done under certain circumstances can be good, but overall it's trash because we are giving so much help to enemies or rather anti Americans (and by anti Americans I don't mean non Americans, I mean those that hate and are out for destroying the American way of life). With the exception of ending Nazism, Fascism, oppression, communism among many other things, war never solved anything.......get my point there? No one likes to fight, but someone has to know how and do so under certain circumstances. We are everyday catching, killing and destroying terrorist networks and the general population doesn't see that. Or, on the other hand you have people like Cindy Sheehan out to vow to support the takedown of the American government like she did with Chavez, and at that point, it's no longer a freedom of speech matter, it's treason, and she shouldn't be allowed to live here.

As for my thoughts on the war on terror, I am a firm believer in allowing people think and believe and worship whatever religion they want to, but when it harms others around you, or becomes you citing religious beliefs as justification for murder, it's a no no. That's why we are in the war against terror.

Also, do yourself a favor and watch the documentary "I, a Muslim". It's a television series called "infiltration" in the Czech Republic that utilizes hidden cameras and microphones to infiltrate a culture, group, cult or whatever. Now in the documentary it starts off going into a mosque and they interrogate this guy to see why he wants to go there and be muslim. Over a 6 month period they did this one, and eventually they get into how women are dogs, why you can beat them, how you can beat them without breaking their bones so they can still work for you and how they plan on taking over Europe and eventually the rest of the world. And if we allow that to happen, we will have people like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the president of Iran telling everyone of their brainwashed children that it's ok and encouraged to stone people to death (particularly teachers) if they teach something other than the teachings of the 'great psychopath' Mohammed.

Watch I, a Muslim and tell me afterwards if you think we shouldn't be at war trying to destroy terrorist cells in a Muslim nation.

Quote:
He certainly knows how to make an ass of himself. Politicians don't really jump sides, as much as change their views on certain issues. Usually though, they're just responding to the masses opinions, after all, they have to be re-elected.
I too agree that he doesn't have speech skills of any sort and should rehearse the speeches more, but he has done some good things that most people don't even know about. For instance, if anyone here has been in the military or currently is, you know that we don't get paid well and that the conditions that a lot of us have to live in (everyone but the Air Force, anyway) are nowhere near good, it's even insufficient in some places (Camp Le Jeune, and Fort Benning are horrible). Well, when Clinton raised military pay, he had it soo offset that a O-1/Lt. (junior officer) with 2 or less years in service made more than a E-5/Sgt. (senior NCO in the Marine Corps, junior NCO in all other services) with 8 or more years in......give me a break. Bush fixed that and made it more proportional and fair as well as increasing EVERYONE'S basic pay.

Additionally, they say Bush handled the Hurricane Katrina deal horribly.....ummm I'm sure some of you do/don't know that in order for the Federal Government to step in, the local/state government has to say "we can't handle this using our own assets, we need help" before the Federal Government can take jurisdiction and take action in such a situation. A perfect example?: When Governer Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency in California during the wildfires. At that point, the Federal Government had jurisdiction and stepped in to offer the aid and assets they could. That didn't happen with Louisiana until so much damage had been done it was nearly pointless. And even then, they just point fingers and say "It wasn't my fault"....No Mr. Nagin, it wasn't your fault that you embezzled millions f dollars from the taxpayers instead of using it for the only intended and legal purposes. Then they turn around and blame Bush and the Republicans?? Riiiiiiiight........and Nagin got re-elected?? What the hell people? What does anyone have to do in order for you to open your damn eyes?

And as far as responding to the masses opinions, yes some of it is for the sake of re-election, but it is also the reason we have a democratic republic form of government....so people can say "I want you to do this" and the president should respond to and do at least SOME of the more logical reasonable things......makes sense right? The people should have a say-so in the matters of their own country. And the president should jump to the more wanted side that the people want. Perfect example?: The war in Iraq.......highly supported (by citizens and democrats) and executed.....at first....now the people want to change their minds? Does anyone know what is going to happen if we pull out in the wanted (by the democrats) 9 moth time frame? Iraq is unbelievably unstable right now. So, the democrats will say "out of Iraq" and Iraq will get worse...on it's own, Iran will step in and introduce a terrorist political party (just like they have right now in Iran). Then they will take over Iraq and be a dictatorship again......and they will do who knows what to the oil and let's face it......our country's infrastructure is built on oil and transportation. And before anyone comes in and says "I knew we were after the oil!" Let me just say that it isn't so much that we are after the oil or profits made from it, but that we are going to protect it from being turned over into someone else's hands that would then be able to easily stop our way of transportation and use all the oil they wanted to deploy their own troops and stop ours by controlling it and preventing it from getting to us.....that would be any nation's only chance against the U.S. military. We could WRECK other nations, at a cost, but we could win.....unless they can control the means of who gets fuel and who doesn't........see my point?

Overall, I would say that politics are bad right now on BOTH sides and our 2 party system isn't working as well as it has in the past, and that's the biggest problem with politics atm.
