If you mean stick with on board than I have to disagree. Using a pci or pci-e sound card not only uses less resources/makes the game run faster, it sounds MUCH better. I have experience in the matter, haha.
Excuse me for saying so, but you must have a really ****ty pc for your game to run noticeably faster with a non-integrated sound board. I don't know about other chipsets, but my motherboard has an integrated Realtek sound chip that provides excellent sound quality, and even 5.1 surround sound capabilities. Unless I was to spend more than 70 dollars on an additional board, the difference in quality would be undiscernable.
