tried that going so far as to use revo to remove all regestry entries and left over files after it was removed. i know it works it been installed before and managed to get it done with out any problems.

EDIT: ok so im not sure what the problem was so i tried taking an old laptop and doing a fresh install of windows and it works now. well at least iv given it a use again.
