Grim will become famous soon enough
Default Tutorial: Multi Box Design

Now this is a VERY simple tutorial, anyone can do it.

2/5 Simplicity, 5 being hardest.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finishing Image:

Step 1, Pick an image
So we will start off with a picture, it doesn't matter what picture you use, but I will use this one:

Step 2, Create the boxes

Make a new layer. Use the Rectangular Marquee Tool and draw a box you will want at least 5, so to draw more, hold the Shift key and it will turn out like so:

Once you have 5 or so boxes selected, select a dark gray color. Press alt + backspace and that will fill in the selected boxes, deselect the boxes.

Repeat with 2 more layers, except each time select a lighter shade of gray. It should turn out something like this:

Step 3, Blending options

This is the step that really makes the magic happen.

You will want to right-click the last layer you made and click blending options.

Change the Blend Mode to Overlay, like so:

Add a drop shadow and instert these settings:

Click Ok, right-click layer 3 and click Copy Layer Style. Then right-click layer 2, hold shift and click layer 1, right-click on layer 2 and click Paste Layer Style.
It should turn out something like this:

Step 4, Erase the rest

Now its fine to leave it as is, or we could go a step further and erase everthing except what is in the boxes.

Hold ctrl and click on the the layer image like so:

Hold shift + control and click on layer 2 AND 1, that will select all the boxes.

Click on the background and press ctrl + j, now you can delete the background layer and you are left with what is inside the boxes!

Final Image:

Don't forget to +rep!
