The fact that people feel the need to hack it at all is telling. MS should take a few of the biggest complaints and implement them - in particular, better codec support like Archos / Sandisk / Cowon offer, UMS support, and an SDK to easily add apps and games. That in itself would open up a bigger client base. I don't think this is greedy at all - MS listens to their client base for their OS and offer new features, why not the Zune?
