@ red sky - i downgraded my firm today to 1.4 and installed the old software 1.x on my pc and was able to do the hard drive hack...

i was able to drag music and pictures and have them work on my zune... but the mp4 videos i dragged did not work.

so i am guessing mp4 videos don't work with the hard drive hack drag and drop???

i have googled that for hours today and couldn't find anything.
