That's simply a farce and untrue. Apple holds patents on certain GUI indicators such as certain ways an image scrolls as you move your finger, or the way a list will bounce at the end of a page, but other than that, Apple does not hold the sole rights to touchscreen navigation. That technology has actually been around since the 70s...
