Sorry about all the hassle you have gone through.
Not a lot of money lost, just my faith in a product I wanted to love. My first replacement Zune was way out of warranty, so I had to pay $110 for a repair. I sent that one back three times (they promised me a new one the second time but didn't send one; the second time they put it right back in the box and shipped it out - turn around time was a week) before they replaced it with the one that was DOA. I had hopes that three would be
the charm.

I called and told them I wanted the warranty money back. Not the purchase price - that would be ridiculous. Just the blatantly wasted $110. The people I talked to were amazingly sympathetic once I got past Tier One "let me try something while we're on the phone" and on to a supervisor. One CSR said they were escalating my claim to MS after I sent the thing back the third time, and that he'd call me one evening soon. Two days later, he called my husband to say they were sending me a new one. That was around the time
the forums started reporting the restart problems.

I had to load 3.1 - it was the only way the computer would recognize it. Now I am sitting here waiting for what seems to be the inevitable. If/when it happens, I have a feeling they will assume I am doing it.

Thanks for help and kind words.

Barbara
