yes its possible there two ways first is the hard reset, hold the back button the left button and the middle button at the same time this rarely works with any success but if you open the zune software and click on settings[upper right corner] then click on device and look for reformat or wipe zune hard drive click on it and wait it might take a while the it restarts the zune and reinstalls the firmware this always works for me, the first method only resets the when I tried it but I would be remiss to not mention it maybe it will work for you
