I'm quite excited to announce this, but I have been under negotiations with Microsoft Corp. over the last few weeks. I have been keeping the deal to myself until the terms were final. I'm happy to announce that Microsoft Corp. has indeed acquired ZuneBoards.com for $95K in cash. I rejected their $140K offer in stock--not that I don't trust Microsoft, but because I need some money. What will happen to ZuneBoards? Nothing. It will remain the same old zuneboards, with the same old staff, and same old forum. Honestly, you wouldn't even notice it was bought!
Microsoft contacted me on February 26th asking me questions about ZuneBoards. A few days later, they contacted me again, telling me that they wanted to expand their site, Zune.net, with a community-based forum. ZuneBoards will be the official forum for the Zune. They will have the ownership of the domain, and the site. They even hinted that they will broadcast TV commercials for ZuneBoards.com.
I couldn't have done it without staff. I'd like to personally thank Putis, one of our admin. When I recieve the big check from Microsoft, I will surely send him a share. This is like a dream come true. I look forward to staying around for another few more years.
