My modified xp takes about 25 seconds to boot up from cold on my 1.3ghz amd Duron ( at least 6 years old) with 1GB ddr266 ram, 40GB maxtor hdd (55mb/s burst speed, 35mb/s maximum speed and 10mb/s minimum speed) .
