I understand that the Zune software updated the Zune. It's what happed the next day that has me puzzled.

Once I plugged in the Zune to the Car Pack the screen said something like "Please click ok to update your accessory" Then I clicked the center button and on the screen there was a percentage that appeared and quickly went up to 100%.
What I find odd, is that if it was the Zune's firmware that was updated to work better with the Car Pack, why did it have to be plugged into an accessory to update. Shouldn't have that been part of the general firmware update along with the gapless playback and whatever?
It appears as if the Zune carried the adapter update within it. Since you can't connect a Car Pack adapter to a computer, it makes sense that any upgrade would be deployed in that manner. Again, I have no solid proof of what happened. Just my own ears and eyes. Regarding reception of the Car Pack, I have never had any static. So, I can't say anything in that regard. Stereo separation on the other hand, seems better.
