The intent of a message board is to share information on a particular topic of interest and what we learn along the way. An individual is free to make their own decision on what they accept or disagree with in what they read. That is what makes freedom great.

In searching the net for information on the status of the Zune software (Current and Future) post support call in mid-April, I happened on this board. In reading some of the posts, I felt an individual was being beat up a little, if you will, in sharing what they experienced on their support call and what they had learned; hence the creation of my previous post, to share what I experienced in my tech support call.

In dealing with Tier 1 and Tier 2 Zune Tech Support for about 1.5 hours a few weeks ago, I had plenty of time to engage in small talk with a couple of techs. Both had mentioned an update at the end of April which was given the version number of 2.5. As mentioned, it is to include fixes along with enhancements. I did not ask for detail as it is customary not to release any information before launch in most corporate environments. Tech support had mentioned that the new release was not in their hands at the time of my support call to play with, but based on information they had been given, in terms of enhancements, it was said that we are supposed to be able to interact with our music libraries in a new and expanded way from prior releases; read into that how you will.

To prove or not to prove is a moot point, as I am simply sharing my experience and what was told to me during my support call. My words are my proof, whether one chooses to accept them is of no concern.
Until version 2.3 pops a window up informing us of a new version, we will not know how the software will function, look, or fix current issues unless one is a member of the Zune software development team. I am not; I am simply sharing with the group what was learned on my support call, along with confirming/affirming that there is talk on a new version/update in the very near future according to those I spoke with at Zune Tech Support.

So let’s stop with the chicanery and get on with the information sharing.
