No matter what other people say, it is still possible to save your data. First, get the Zune HD hack, then connect your Zune to your computer after you have installed it. Make sure the Zune is on and then access it from my computer. If you can copy files, or even veiw them, great, your problem is solved. If you can't, then take the Hard drive out of the Zune and connect it using a hard drive to USB connector. Note that this is very dangourous, and you could destroy your Zune, or at least void the warenty. Anyway, fisrt you must take the Zune apart, so use a screwdriver to push of the plastic next to the export slot. Next, you will see two screws there. Unscrew them. Then, take a wedge and put it in the seam of the Zune on the headphone side, slightly below the headphone area. Next, push and pull up. It will require a bit of force. If you do this wrong, your Zune will be ruined. Now, assuming you did it correctly, locate the hard drive (it should look kind of like a silver brick, and it should be behind the LCD screen), and take it out. It should have a SATA port on it, so You should have a SATA to USB connector. Connect the Hard Drive to your computer, and copy all the files over to your computer. Once this is done, connect the Hard Drive back up to your Zune, the same way it was before, and push the cover back on. When you've done this, screw the screws back on and put the export slot clip back on. Now you can connect the Zune to your computer and recover it.
