Default EXTREME Disappointment With Zune 2.0

Microsoft has definately lost it in too many ways. As a former employee of 12 years, I have always been a fan in the past but have now decided that they have indeed become "the evil empire" that so many have been claiming for years. I waited until the 2.0 release because I have too much experience with the 1.x products to know that they are never any good and have lots of bugs. However, I am now hearing that 1.0 was OK but 2.0 is so totally awful that everyone wants to go back...

With the massive issues that Vista has seen and the Zune fiasco, I am so glad that I have liqudated all of my MS stock for good. I find it really difficult to believe that they just had their biggest quarter ever because their products really suck!

The album art issues really piss me off, but so does the fact that my Zune will sync with my Vista laptop only about 1 out of 6 attempts. Vista does not recognize the device and keeps trying to load a driver for it. Once in a while the Zune software on my PC will recognize it and then sync, but Vista still has a "unrecognized device" error.

Only a portion of my music will sync. I would guess that approximately 2/3's of it will be recognized, but out of these there are songs spread out everywhere even though I have them very organized in their own folders with clean tags and album art embedded in each tag. For many albums the display shows multiple copies of the album with each copy containing 1 or more songs. I have some albums that show one song per album!

The video goes whacky all the time. I eventually have to shut down the Zune application on my PC because the display is so blurry and unreadable that it becomes a big picture of colored blobs.

The software is so incredibly limited that I find it laughable. My 4 year old would look at and wonder why it doesn't work... You can't do anything with it let alone find what you want to listen to.

I used to hate anything Apple. I have rethought that over the past year or so and can now understand how they will only gain market share as Microsoft loses it. As for my Zune, I'll give it one month. If nothing changes that I'll head back to the store and get my $249 back so that I can get a "real" MP3 player that actually works. No excuses Microsoft--you should certainly be able to produce some simple software that works. I just wonder if you ever even bother to test this new release.
