As reported almost a year ago, the Zune is supposed to get games by July 2008. Peter Moore, then-vice-president of Xbox video-game business, confirmed plans of incorporating one of the most anticipated features for the Zune platform which set off a fire storm of rumors. More after the break...

Despite being reported multiple times HERE , HERE , and HERE, the departure of Moore in July of this year leaves answers to this question on shakey ground. Don Mattrick, Moore's replacement, has given no indication as to whether plans are still going forward. But even more rumors came out when Microsoft posted a reference to games in its Software Development Engineer in Test position in which the job description included:
"Zune needs you! Do you love music, movies, GAMING? ... Be a part of this start up team which will reshape the
way people engage with their GAMES, music, and videos. .... [enphasis added]
On top of that, the Branding Manager position also eludes to games: Zune, the new entertainment business at Microsoft, will define the next
generation of entertainment - a new way for people to engage with their GAMES, music, and videos...[emphasis added]
It's unsure whether these job descriptions are referring to games on the Zune device itself, or are eluding to a combined Xbox-Zune entertainment platform similar to what we are seeing evolve already. -ACE AS always, feel free to comment here or in our forum.
