iToonsOk - I know this might seem backwards, but here me out.  You can use *coughs* iTunes *coughs* to get more FREE podcast content on your Zune.  That's right.  I know it sounds crazy, but it's true.  Let's face it.  Zune doesn't have a ton of choices (yet) while iTunes, which has been at this for quite some time now, has a huge selection ready for FREE downloading!  They're in the same format (mp4) and once you get them to the Zune Software, you can manage them from there - all you need is the initial download from iTunes!  So If you can bear using that 'other' media software, click to find out how....

Step1 - download iToons

Step 2 - Open iTunes and click the Podcast menu at the left task pane.   You'll should get a message on what Podcasts are and an option to go to the Podcast Directory.

Step 3 - Browse the menu and find something you like.

Step 4 - Subscribe to your Podcast.  You'll see the downloads status menu show downloads have begun.

Step 5 - You should automatically see the Podcast show up in the Zune Software.  From here, you can tell the Zune Software to subscribe and manage everything from here!

Troubleshoot - You may need to tell Zune Marketplace to look in the specific folder where you're downloading.  Right click the file in iTunes and choose preferences to get the location (usually Music > iTunes > Podcasts) and tell the Zune software to monitor that folder (or you can always drag and drop)

And if you haven't subscribed to FREE podcasts, why not???

They are not automatically going into Zune Software. I subscribed through Itunes and watched podcast, to make sure. Did I miss something?

As long as you have the podcast url you can add them within your Zune software...

You may need to tell the Zune Software to monitor the iTunes Podcast folder. Right click the podcast in iTunes and get the location (usually Music > iTunes > Podcasts). Once you get them to the Zune Software, you can manage them from there. [smiley=happy]

or u could just manually add the rss link to the shows in to the Zune software, pretty simple actually without the itunes. Also the sites that the podcasts belong to usually list their rss link in their link or how to subscribe sections.
Dont really need to use itunes at all.
