etExtremeTech announced its thoughts over the past year and who's deserving of the top tech trends of 2007.  Ringing in at number 6 is Zune and Xbox 360.  More after the clickers.....
Looking back at the past year is never easy. As humans, we tend to think about the last few days, not the last 12 months. I can't remember what I did last week, much less what passed through my mind in February or June.

So it took a lot of surfing to come up with this list. It was fun surfing, though: The memories came flooding in as I checked out products and tech trends that happened this past year.

While they blast Windows Vista, they speak favorably on the Zune:

Zune 2.0 software, which works with both original and new "Zune 2" players, comes with a host of new features. One of the most welcome is the ability to sync your player via its built-in Wi-Fi networking, something that the device should always have been capable of. Another feature that should have been there before is podcast support, which Zune software 2.0 does very well.

Rounding out the top 10 are gaming, Terabyte drives, and DRM-free music which Zune Marketplace does as well.  Let's see what's in store for Zune in 2008!  Happy New Year everyone!

Can I use Wi-Fi with a password of greater complexity than "password?" Can I do it with 128 rather than only 64? The answer for both these, for years>2004, should be "yes." I think it is not.

Uhm, it's a yes, because I have a 128.

Alright, sorry for the double post, but my fav part that got me laughing is this. "In the console space, the concept of "next gen" really kicked in. Games using the Xbox 360 to its fullest, and games taking advantage of the Wii's unique controls, both came out in spades...(part that's funny)And the PlayStation 3 still makes a great Blu-Ray player!" This is at #10, then later on at #7 is Dual-format HD Devices which kinda kills the PS3. I think it's over for Sony in the gaming world, love their games, but they need some help on the system.

Sorry about being off topic, just figured I'd help spread laughter in '08.
