Ceaser recently posted on ZuneInsider.com that some people should have noticed a improvement in the Zune 30's battery performance because of new and improved codecs. He also mentioned that the people that are experiencing issues with the Play/Pause button not correctly suspending the hard drives, will have this problem fixed in the December update. I wouldn't expect anything new in the December update as he said it should be similar to last years December update.

I have this problem, too! Sometimes when I turn off my Zune 80 before school, it doesn't turn back on because of dead battery! I was like, "WTF?!?" I hope the new update will fix this problem.

Are you saying MS isn't reliable?

Yes and no
with software and OS they suck (not that have much choice with the OS, linux is not very user friendly and Mac OSX doesn't support as much games and programs)

the hardware is indeed reliable like the zune or other products like the xbox 360, keyboards mouses

yeah I have this battery life problem. I fully charged it and then the next day it was dead. If you turn it off and lock it, the power wont be lost

well my zunes battery stays for a long time..the best way to save battery life is to turn your brightness all the way down, turn your back light to 5 seconds, turn your wireless off and only turn it on when you want to use it, lets see hmmm, ohh and when you are listening to music ahead of time make you a playlist or quick list then put the songs on random and put it in your pocket and put it on hold or hold it in your hands your choice....i find this to work wonderfully..oh yeah and by the way when you turn your zune off dont just put it in sleep mode.. turn it of completely by holding the back button and down on the pad that saves battery power while its of....thanx
