Welp, it had to happen some time! The new Zunes got put under the knife for all their insides to be displayed for everyone to see. Point....Click.....Read more... ..
Some one has to do the dirty work and that's what the folks over at RapidRepair (formerly iPodMods.com) did so anyone could figure out how to dismantle their Zune if need be. With cold precision, they brought us the full guide to dismantling the Zune 30 and the new Zunes have been given the same treatment.

So what does the new flash Zune look like inside? And what did they find? Well they do give kudos to MS: "The compact new
design of the Zune 2 Flash is a remarkable innovation." But do mention some issues: "Microsoft thought it would be a good idea to make [the Zune Pad]
non replaceable...A poor design from a RapidRepair standpoint!" It took just under 3 hours to dismantle the Zune 8.
And the Zune 80 recently got its turn. This time, it takes them less than 45 minutes to take apart the largest of the Zune family!! RapidRepair does this for many electronic devices so everyday people like you and me won't be lost when we decide to do it ourselves. And if we slip up? They offer a forum for questions! | |
