It has only been two days since the new software and firmwares were released, but Zuneboard's hacking team is already hard at work!

We have discovered that the new software uses a new language for its software, called UIX .  This language is a new mix of XML and JavaScript.  What this really shows is that Microsoft honestly rewrote the software from the ground-up.  This new software is not a skinned version Of Windows Media Player, but a whole new piece of software.  Another advantage of this new structure is that the resources suggest a much more customizable interface.  With enough time and effort, we can do more than simply skin the interface, we can change the visual effects and reform the interface.  Needless to say, the potential is high!

A member of our hacking team, Berdon, has update his HDPatcher to version 4.0 that includes support for the new drivers and new software.  Get it from the forums here.

Some of the old hacks have been updated for the new software.  As mentioned earlier, the Asian character support and downgrade information can be found here.

For those of you who are sticking to the old software, check out zSweet made by Zuneboard's own Loveandhatejw, a completely remade version of zSuite (originally made by PityOnU, formerly of Zuneboard's Hacks and Mods Crew) from scratch, using only the basic idea as a guide.  This version has an actual GUI, allowing for a much cleaner interface and eliminating the many difficulties that plagued PityOnU's version.  As well, this version has no reports of being a virus.  This can be found here.

We have also developed information onto the code names used on the Zunes.  A big shocker is the name of Zune 30, "Keel,"  The software also seems to call the Zune 8, "Draco" and the Flash Zunes, "Scorpius."  Another oddity is the software refers to the Zune logo itself as "Fue."  Thanks go to Zuneboard's hacker of fame, Marshillboy.

Props go out to Darkzune.com's hacker, "White Rabbit" for being the first to get a final release done for zSkins on the new software.  Our hacks and mods team had discovered this Tuesday night, but we failed to get a final release out, waiting for backgrounds to be developed especially for the software for our GFX Crew.  zSkins will be available in our zSkins section soon, as will a tutorial on how to make your own custom backgrounds.  Also expect more customization soon, as we continue to investigate the many new images in the new software and as we begin to customize the UIX found throughout the program.   Things to watch for soon in the coming zSkins only on Zuneboards will be things like customizable rating symbols. replacement icons for your Zunes, different font choices, and eventually, modified animations.

As always, keep your eye on Zuneboards.com.  The place for your Zune hacks past, present, and future--despite our imitators.
