ZuneBoards has been notorious for number of hacks released in the past . 10 months after the Zune was released, we have proven to going strong. In our forums, one of our members named "Scheme " unveiled an idea that would allow the Zune to accept Korean and Chinese characters. Surely enough, it works! It's almost as easy as "dropping a font" into the System Partition. Of course, accessing the System Partition is the hardest part. Currently, you'll need to disassemble your Zune, but hopefully in the near future we'll get access to the System Partition without having to disassemble. That still doesn't give Microsoft a reason not to include Korean and Chinese. Seriously, wtf? Are they that lazy? Microsoft, I am really disappointed... WAKE UP. Where are the firmware updates you promised? (Click for Hi-Res)
Let's get back on subject. This hack may not mean much for Americans or Europeans, but this does mark a big point in the Zune history as the first real hack on the Zune. Also, keep on checking back for more releases by us. From the looks of it now, very soon we will be releasing a hack that many of you will love.
Update: ZunePet from the forums claim that soon, this hack will be doable without access to the system partition. That means it will be available for the average Zune users.
