Is it strange coincidence or what? But a ton of Zune 30 owners are
flooding the net searching for what's going on with their Zune 30s.
About midnight last night, the Zunes would be stuck in the boot screen
and wouldn't boot. While there are conspiracy theories a plenty, could
there be some real reason to this? Let us know if you've had this same
issue.

An interesting concept was created a while back called LucidTouch where users could control a device by way of touch sensitivity from the back of the device. Microsoft and Mitsubishi have teamed up to create a new nano version with a screen only 2.4 inches.
The idea stems from concern over current touchscreen technology where the interface is from the front, but your grubby (or fat) fingers/hand get in the way and the screen becomes partially obscured. This new interface allows for full view of the screen while still interfacing with the device, and offers a unique interface experience that some say could trump current touch interfaces found on devices such as the iPod Touch and iPhone. It is said that users preferred this new interface over current touch interfaces.
The new NanoTouch design offers ultraportable use and could be used in new micro/flash technologies. Since Microsoft is part of the team to spearhead this tech, it wouldn't be out of the possibility to see some implementation in future Zune devices. There's a lot of wild speculation floating around the web about some job postings for Zune specific positions up in Redmond. It seems MS is looking for people who have experience with interfaces such as accelerometers and touch screens to name a few, experience in mobile music technology (as on cell phones), and people to work on "Zune Xbox" and other "emerging" platforms." As of today, Zune Marketplace updated their 99 cent albums. It seems like that Zune Marketplace will either change it weekly or every few days! I'm not sure about when it will expire. Get those albums while they are still 99 cents!

With the news that there's no ZunePhone device coming out, there's a new term being tossed around the web these days which seems more plausible. The rumored Project Pink may be a new platform for Zune to get onto Windows Mobile phones before the big Windows Mobile 7 debut called ZuneMobile. It's being discussed as a premium service for Windows Mobile users to get Zune enabled content on their phones including music, videos, TV shows, and podcasts. This could be what Ballmer was saying a while ago. Zune Mobile would seem to make more sense by not alienating current mobile phone partners as a ZunePhone would. Like with all these rumors, take a scoop of salt down the old gullet with it and I guess we're going to have to wait and see what really happens next month at CES 2009.
