Zune HD selling like Hot cakes

While I think it is cool they sold out I really don't think it is as big of a "Sell Out" as we think.

I mean don't you think it is odd that there are so many 16gig's left? I find it hard to believe that people only want the 32gig version. Now I see why people would want more space but it is what like $80 or around difference. I just think more people would buy the 16gig's that are sitting in stores if it really was a huge sell out...

Unfortanetly for me. My zune came from Staples . And they are currently not stocking them at any of there stores. So next weekend when I go and see the Arctic Monkeys . I will have to go and check how my 2 year warranty pans out for me. Because i might have to switch over to something like the Archo's or something .

I'm gonna have a 200 dollar shopping spree at staples. The only mp3 players they sell are these crappy 2gb ones and 80 and 120 zunes which i don't really like the touch pad thing.

This is good. I'm glad the Zune HD didn't flop, (I knew it wouldn't, but there was always a chance).

Well, I have a feeling the reason why everything is out of stock is because Microsoft wasn't making a whole lot of them to begin with (only about 3-6 per store or so), perhaps due to them not expecting people to pick up on it.

Just an assumption of course. I just say that because I walked into Best Buy day 1 about 10-15min after they opened, and they didn't have 32GB at all and only 4 16GB. And when I went to go ring out they wouldn't let me buy it because of serial number issues.

And shipping a low amount of HDs and having them sold out would get bloggers and other sources talking about how it sold out, so people would think that if it's sold out, it must be hot.

Hence, they pulled a nintendo.
Ever wonder why the wii sold out so quick when it first came out?

I was so lucky they had one at Best Buy when I drove down to the border. Every friend or family member is really impressed with it, and want one too. :p

My local bestbuy didn't even bother to put the HD on display yet. When I asked, none of the sales drones knew what I was talking about. They actually tried to sell me one of the discontinued models.
Finally, they found them in a drawer somewhere. I could buy one, but sight unseen, they wouldn't even let me unpack it and play with it.

FU BestBuy.

Microsoft has a real problem on their hands if you ask me. This would bee my first Zune, and seeing the love it's getting around here (= none) I hesitate to buy one now.

I'm getting tired of my iPods, but at least there's an Apple store around here where they care about helping you with their products when there's something wrong with them, and they actually know the product.

I pre-ordered an original, but just couldn't wait, so i went to bestbuy to check it out. Almost nothing was showing on it, so I told an employee that they have to sync it for it to work, they said "I know." I was like WTF??? They have an iTouch on display with dozens of apps, but Zune isn't good enough for you, Bestbuy?

Well the best buy I bought mine from basically had them hidden in the case. the glass is dark and the boxes are black. it took the manager to find them. then the sales person tried to change my mind into getting an ipod.. I was like no and then had to explain to her why. I do agree that it really sucks that there will not be an app store. I argued about this months ago that it was a MAJOR selling point for apple and everybody disagreed.

But this is definitely the best PMP I have ever owned and I have owned almost every Creative Arts one and now all the Zunes at one time or another. the major selling point for me is the Zune pass and now the Quick DJ for the HD. Have a smartphone and NDS for the games and apps. So I have to live. Would I recomend to others? yes. Would I buy another? Probably will to keep in my jeep (mounted of course)

Went to the BestBuy in Round Rock TX on the 15th to buy a Zune HD but none were on display. The salesman said they were locked up and no one had a key. Thank god for Amazon and others!
