More Details on the ZuneHD?

Neowin’s Ryan Rea (or volvoshine as he’s called on twitter) has again come out with some ‘leaked’ information concerning the ZuneHD including some price info, and other stuff. Here are the most note worthy tidbits:

TK: 16GB and 32GB, Microsoft is considering adding a 64GB Zune later on in the model year
RR: How much is Zune HD projected to cost?
TK: The prices are not set in stone yet, but the 16GB will be somewhere in the range of $249 -$280
RR: How has the Zune software changed?
TK The Zune software has evolved to meet the needs of the Zune HD. it is also going to become much more a "center of entertainment" for the whole household. Microsoft also plans to have Zune interact with a variety of other Microsoft services.

The interview is from a source who says Microsoft is ‘OK’ with him telling all he knows. How credible this source is still up for debate, but interesting nonetheless.

ben52192	If a 16 gb HD is around 250 god knows how much a 64 gb HD would be. (proportionally, it would be 1040 bucks, but they cannot do that) Anyways, I know it'll be a lot, and personally I'd prefer getting a 120 gb regular for 250 bucks. I'd rather pay less for more music storage than more for less music storage and a touch screen and a HD radio that will only work at home. that's just me though.

16 gigs for $250-280... smartest thing they could do (besides add the 64 gig version).
I assume the 32 gig version will be from $350-380. I was gonna go for the 16 gig based on price, but if the 32 gig is $350, I won't even hesitate to get that one. But I only have 6 gigs of space filled up, so even 16 gigs would easily would work for me.

And I'm glad they compared the iPhone and Zune HD side-by-side (although I wish it was the iPod Touch). I never realized this, but the Zune HD is small! I think that'll be a good selling point. If the Zune Team can create some killer games and apps (as well as the people making games/apps on this site) to show off the Tegra's power, this will run circles around the iPod Touch. Too bad the iPod has been ingrained in everyone's heads as perfect and unbeatable. Curse Apple and their wretched marketing techniques! Of all the companies in the world, I hate Apple the most.

soUFJERzz	Whats the point if he can't really confirm anything or provide any solid details. Voloshine is the biggest Fail on the World Wide Web. Also, why pay 250-280 for a 16 gig player? The 16 GB version should be below that price.

Zune 120 is $249 MSRP. if they drop the price and continue selling it that will cannibalize the sales of the ZuneHD 16GB.

ZuneHD 16GB must be between $200-229 MSRP with Zune 120 getting a slight drop to $229-239 MSRP.

64 gig model, im impressed. well i guess there will be some happy people on here now. hey guys, dont freak out, 250-280 dollars for a 16 gig is 50-20 dollars less than ipod. i dont mind saving $50, do you?

trying to see some info here.... apparently zunes are on sale on the source: it says $70 for a 4, $100 for an 8, $230 for a 120. for anyone who lives in Canada.

never the less, the difference is $30. so assuming that 4 gigs of flash memory is $30, that means the zune hd 64 gig will cost $480 for just the memory. with the HD radio, web browser, touch screen, tegra, etc. this thing will cost well over $500 Canadian. so if anyone wants a 64 gig, thats my estimate. get saving.

look at the price difference between the Zune 4 and 8 when they released and it makes more sense for the 120 to drop to a price lower than the HD
