It's been a long road getting here, but the Windows Phone Marketplace has finally broken the barrier of a full 100,000 apps, a major milestone important to any major platform. We did expect this to happen a month or two ago, though this was during CES, so it's understandable that the pace of new apps has slowed down as the hype did. So, with that said, what are the stats?
As usual, and just like how everyone else counts their apps, this number represents the total number of apps published, not the number currently available; this number can vary based on regional availability, as well as when Microsoft or a publisher removes their app. A small number are published but not currently available for one reason or another. The total number of apps across all regions is 88,371, and you can see the breakdown here. The numbers generally correspond to how long the Marketplace has been available in that region. You can hit the source for all the numbers you can handle.
